Summer 2024
This year's summer has not been like the rest because it hasn't been warm enough.
Take off!
Flying for the First Time – What to expect!
You have planned your departure for a long time - applied for a passport, applied for a visa (filling of gazillion forms, interview, biometrics, medical (if applicable)), shopping for, booking and buying of an air ticket, packing, goodbyes, the trip to the airport, more goodbyes and finally you're at the security area ready to be frisked and scanned then off you climb that famous escalator that will take you away from your familiar territory!
Air Travel Your First or Fiftieth Experience
People travel to different places for different reasons. Some travel far, often outside their countries or even outside their continents while others travel within their localities. For those traveling far, air transport is usually the mode of choice because of the need to save time.
Flying can either be an exciting or an unnerving experience. Traveling by air for the first time is an experience that sticks to memory for many people. It does not matter how much one has heard, read or watched about air travel, it is until they actually make the trip that they get the real feeling.
Flying in Little Planes
Traveling by air can be fun but sometimes it can be scary. For me, and probably for most people, big planes are fine but smaller ones are rickety, unstable and straight up scary when flying in them. One time I took a flight from JKIA in Nairobi, Kenya to my home town of Eldoret but since there were a few passengers going to Kisumu, a lakeside city, the Captain announced mid-flight that we were going to Kisumu first then proceed to Eldoret from there.
